Thank you for visiting my website and exploring the universal language of music. Please take a moment and find out how I chose a career in musical performance and then evolved into a composer. I would love to hear from you so just click the “Contact Us” menu choice.
Personal Information
I was born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 4, 1950 to Roger Voisin & Martha Voisin. I have one younger sister, Anne, who lives in West Stockbridge with her family. During the summers, our Voisin family lived in Stockbridge, Massachusetts and both Anne and I worked at Tanglewood as well as attended concerts by the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Latin School and Boston English High Schools were where I completed my high school studies. While in high school, I had the good fortune to solo with the Boston Pops with Arthur Fiedler conducting. After attending Oberlin Conservatory (1969-1971) and the New England Conservatory (1971-1972), I started my orchestral career in Syracuse, New York. I am married to Pamela Voisin (trumpet player) and have three daughters, Christiane, Maria, and Candice. I now am semi-retired and living in Columbus, North Carolina.
Volunteer Experience
One of the most important gifts that we can give the world is Volunteering. That’s why I volunteer.
Guardian ad Litem: (2019-Present) I was appointed by the NC Juvenile Court system to be a child advocate for children that were removed from their home because of neglect and/or abuse. Reunification, or Guardianship, or Adoption are the options for resolution to this traumatic event in a child’s life.
SCORE Mentor: (2019-2021) I Mentored eleven different small business owners in my two years of volunteer work. I left SCORE to accept a position on the Board of Directors of the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce.
Meals on Wheels (2018-Present) My wife, Pam, and I team up to deliver meals to our neighbors in Polk County who need food delivery. The mission of Meals on Wheels is to provide hot, nutritious meals to homebound seniors who are unable to shop or prepare their own meals. This program provides services that allow seniors to live in their homes with dignity and independence as long as possible.
