  • “The Word” blog will explore the power of the written word will be what this blog will explore. “Back in the day” when there were no electronic communication systems, people wrote letters to each other. They put their written word (in their own hand and using their own quill and inkwell) on paper and sometimes sealed their communication with a wax seal to protect the privacy of their message. That letter might be the very last thing the recipient of that post would ever get from the sender. Words were chosen carefully. Meanings were carefully and reverently delivered. One of my projects is to translate some of my late Grandfather’s letters (from the 1900’s that were in French). Rene Louis Gabriel Voisin ( born 11/19/1893 – died 01/16/1952) was a musician living in Paris at the time and playing in five orchestras after he graduated from the Paris Conservatory in 1918 with the Grand First Prize in Cornet. It hearkens back to a time when purposeful communication was important. Stay tuned.
